SB Licensing Signs Iconic Bands Queen and Pink Floyd to Roster
Global licensing agency SB Licensing has signed British bands Queen and Pink Floyd to its expanding roster of cultural icons, with global representation.
SB licensing will manage all name, image, likeness and moving image requests for Queen and Pink Floyd working with agencies and brands alike in the collaborative process which brings a commercial creative vision to life. The archive also includes never-seen-before photographs, iconography/logos, album covers and music videos.
With Queen’s music having been used in advertising for decades, now the band is opening up opportunities for brands to associate with their name, image and likeness. In addition to being musical geniuses, Queen were visual creators ahead of their time with Freddie Mercury designing the iconic logo, known as the "Queen Crest.” The emblem is one of the most recognisable images in modern culture and represents the band's identity.
Pink Floyd have also had a huge impact on culture and have always been a creative powerhouse both musically and visually. Their imagery, lyrics, and album art (like the prism on “The Dark Side Of The Moon” ) have become part of global pop culture. Graphic design has been fundamental to their visual work, and their partnership with the Hipgnosis studio produced some of the most iconic album artworks ever created.
Founded by licensing maven, Sonia Bouadma, SB licensing has worked with household brands on major campaigns such as Cadbury Heroes 'All Heroes, No Zeros', Coca Cola's award winning 'Masterpiece', Cartier “Tank Saga”, Chanel “Marilyn and N°5” and EE's infamous 'Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon'.
Sonia Bouadma, Founder of SB Licensing said: “We are thrilled to be trusted with stewarding the heritage and creative contribution of these iconic British bands. We look forward to championing their continued legacy through licensing and collaborating with ad agencies or brands on powerful, unique creative campaigns. A vast collection of striking visual assets celebrating the bands’ achievements is available to partners seeking an authentic association with Queen and Pink Floyd. Some of those assets have never been seen before, making this representation especially exciting.”
Queen and Pink Floyd join the legacies of Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali, Elvis Presley, Charlie Chaplin, Richard Bernstein and Thomas Edison.
